Kallie R. Szczepanski is a freelance writer and Boston University PhD student, with a JD from the University of Washington (2002). Her writing and editing background includes serving as a Comments Editor for the Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal, research and preliminary writing on behalf of the Rural Development Institute for reports to the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization and the World Bank, as well as several articles published in academic journals on legal and international development issues. She taught courses in comparative law and English as a Foreign Language at Hallym University in South Korea from 2005 to 2007. Szczepanski won a Pulitzer Center Citizen Journalism Award in 2007 for an article on US/Ethiopian relations. Since 2008, she has been the Asian History Guide for About.com, a New York Times company.
