Why isn't my website being indexed by search engines?
Many new websites have a hard time getting listed in top search engine positions but not because Google penalizes them for being new kids on the playground. New sites only appear to be sandboxed but in reality they do poorly because:
They do not have a lot of content, or the content is not well written.
They have a lot of competition with other websites trying to get listed so over submit their sites to search engines.
They do not have a lot of quality inbound links yet.
They have little, poor, or no SEO.
They do not have a track record of popularity upon which to build.
They do not have a robots.txt, site maps for spiders, have not been authenticated with Google (or Yahoo), improperly submitted a site to be included in a search engine...
In other words, many new websites lack some of the most important things for any site (including older sites) to get top search engine positions.
If your website has not been indexed (or has been indexed but is not showing up in the top 10) blaming Google will not help. Looking at why your site is not performing and making changes will help.
